In “dry” Gujarat, and in just five years, the percentage of alcohol consumption among women has doubled while it has nearly halved in the case of men during the same time. The recently released National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 2019-20 report surveyed a total of 33,343 women and 5,351 men during the period. Of these 200 women (0.6%) and 310 men (5.8%) said that they consumed alcohol.
