The fact of city roads and BRTS lanes in Ahmedabad and Surat turning increasingly accident prone and unsafe became a pivotal discussion at the special meeting convened by the state government on Monday. State home minister Pradeepsinh Jadeja constituted a special traffic coordination committee for curbing accidents on Ahmedabad roads in the meeting. The committee will meet every fortnight and will be spearheaded by police commissioner Ashish Bhatia, while municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra will be its vice-chairman.
